Im a Sucker For These
There's just something about fresh produce that meets me right where I'm at. I could literally overdose on raspberries and blueberries during the summer months. I live for summer fruit!
On Thursday's we receive fresh picked organically grown fruit and veggies from T&D Willey Farms. Every week it is a surprise to see what the box will include. Except for the abundance of carrots we get every week. (I just might turn orange!)
Right now is amazing... our shipment includes: fresh picked peaches, Mediterranean cucumbers, mixed medley of cherry tomatoes, sweet corn, cantaloupe and much more. It's totally worth the money! Having fresh produce picked the day of and basically delivered to your front door, ummm yes please!
Lately, I've been doing a lot of picking and garden growing myself. It's something I have always been interested in doing. Being able to walk in to your own backyard and pick the produce you need just feels good. I recently went cherry picking with a group of friends. We figured, it's a heck of a lot cheaper than buying them in the stores, plus they're fresh! Not paying close attention I ended up loading my bucket with 10lbs of fresh picked cherries, oops! But hey, it only cost 1.85 per lb, so it was worth it!
The experience is what mattered... wearing grungy clothes, holy shoes, no makeup and ratted hair climbing on step-stools and picking your own fresh cherries. Totally worth it!
What's something you live for during the summer months?

Beyond Blessed
So I’m a little bit behind schedule on blogging… obviously, just started yesterday. So much craziness in the air and not enough time to jot it all down.
My great grandma was in town from the state of bead throwers, beignet eaters, & superdome cheerleaders. Can you guess where? At 94 years old she is walking without a crutch, doing her daily calf raises & enjoying her evening margaritas. Can I get an Amen?!
I was lucky enough to have some really good conversations with her during her visit. Those are the moments I will cherish most. Her since of humor, smile, & compliments will forever hold a place in my heart. Not many people are blessed to have a great grandma like me.

It’s always hard to say goodbye not knowing exactly when I will see her again (Even though all of us believe she will out live us). What I do know is, she has an abounding love for the Lord & will have eternal life. Cool huh?
A month ago my mom left me an article to read. It really made me think about things & touched me in a spot that I knew needed some work. Spending quality time with our aging loved ones. Regardless of my hectic schedule & busy life, they deserve love, time & respect too.

Dull Moment... No Never!
The lovers of my life, no not men, or children, but my two dogs. They have worms! After investigating I've realized that this is a problem that needs to be dealt with. We have an awesome, wonderful animal loving vet who travels to the homes of pet owners and takes care of animals. I’ve noticed it is more comforting and less traumatizing for the dogs to be treated at home. Some people may think I’m crazy but when I feel like my animals are hurting or crying, I cry too.
Meet my boys, Fritz & Franz
I get anxious and nervous when the vet comes not knowing how the boys will react. Typically they’re fine, but I’m not. (I know, wah wah wah) Dr. Smith has been around our family for several years and taken care of many different pets. He’s done well checks, given medicine, shots, & even prayed over our animals before they’re put down. May sound funny and be a bit controversial but we believe animals do go to heaven. God created these fellas, so why argue? Right?!
Animals hold a special place in our hearts. They love unconditionally, comfort when broken, have listening ears, & always greet with joy when gone for even just a second. A friend showed me a song that is kinda silly but I believe in a lot of ways is true. Get your tissue because this one is a tear jerker!
